Privacy policy

Coffelio (“the app”) is a coffee journal and brewing companion: you log the coffee you drink, discover cafés near you, review beans and equipment, and share brews with other users. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and who it is shared with.
Who is responsible

What we collect

We do not collect payment data. We do not sell your personal data.
Who your data is shared with
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage) — hosts your account, your content and your uploaded images. See the Firebase privacy information.
- Google AdMob — serves the optional rewarded video ads. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- OpenStreetMap (Overpass API) — when the map looks for nearby cafés, the coordinates of the searched area are sent to the Overpass service. No account information is sent with that request.
- Other users — your display name, profile photo, level and anything you publish (posts, comments, reviews, café submissions) are visible to other people in the app.
Advertising and consent
The app is free to use. Some features have free limits, and instead of paying you may choose to watch a rewarded video ad to continue. Ads are served by Google AdMob and are entirely optional — you never have to watch one.
- Where required (EEA, UK), a consent form is shown before any ad is requested. If you do not consent, no ad is shown.
- You can change your choice at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy settings.
- On iOS you are also asked whether the app may track your activity (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, ads are non-personalised.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app — no email required. Open your profile, tap Edit profile, and use the delete account option there. You are asked to confirm before anything is removed.
Deleting your account also deletes everything you created in the app. That includes your profile, your coffee logs, brew logs and saved recipes, your café submissions, your product reviews, your community posts, comments and likes, your favourites and statistics, and every image you uploaded. The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone — we cannot restore an account or its content afterwards.
If you cannot reach the app for any reason, write to info@coffelio.eu from the address your account uses and we will delete it for you.
How long we keep data
Your account and content are kept until you delete them, as described above. Content you published in the community may remain visible in an anonymised form where it is part of a conversation with other users. Backups are rotated and overwritten within 30 days.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, contact info@coffelio.eu. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to your account requires your password or your Google sign-in.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
